HOW TO BOOK WORDS OF CHOICE

 

"WORDS OF CHOICE" created by Cindy Cooper is a dynamic pro-choice theater presentation -- smart, funny, and endangered -- still.

 

The performance is 70 minutes in length.

 

Now touring Words of Choice II -- the second collection of writings about the importance of reproductive justice and women's lives, Words of Choice offers vibrant true-to-life stories with a healthy mix of spoken word, poetry, and comic sketches from a diversity of writers.

 

An acting ensemble of three brings to life powerful and comic tales:  Letters to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun after he authors the opinion in Roe v. Wade; a minister who has experieced incest describes her pro-choice faith; and a woman comically tries to explain the joys of menstruation to a date.  For more information about the pieces, see Choice Words.

 

The play is designed to break open discussions about choice issues and to open community dialogue.  We recommend and will guide a discussion after each performance.

 

As a not-for-profit theater company, “Words of Choice” is happy to negotiate fees with interested organizations, groups and institutions for a live performance, or to help design a tour.
